We are often asked where we find inspiration as wedding photographers. “Live the Life you Love” — during our time with Beth as she was finishing hair and makeup, I noticed the phrase she had placed in script on her forearm. The phrase just stuck with us for the balance of the day, like a lyrical good luck charm. Inspiration found.
High atop a mountain overlooking the rolling hills surrounding Morgantown, Beth and Daniel exchanged vows and danced their evening away at the Benton Grove B&B We began our day with Beth as she dressed and, from a window in her suite, was able to watch their guests assemble outside. Meanwhile, Daniel enjoyed time with his groomsmen and parents as the ceremony time arrived. As Beth was escorted down the aisle, Daniel approached before gently lifting her veil. They decided to include a wedding ribbon tying into their ceremony — it’s always so nice when couples add personal touches whether they be religious, ethnic or family traditions.
After, we were able to have a period of creative photographs on the Benton Grove grounds — including a scenic shot high over the valley and farms below on a beautiful mustard sette. Incidentally, if you just happen to love the vintage sette as much as we do — Beth just so happened to launch a fantastic vintage rental shop, the Mustard Couch, shortly after her wedding!
We capped the evening with a jam-packed reception on the Benton Grove veranda and as we love to do — we were able to sneak away for one last night shot from the balcony overlooking the ceremony area. Here are a few of our favorites…
